Leading Flat jockey Frankie Dettori, who is also an ambassador for Sporting Index, will celebrate his 50th birthday on Tuesday. The Italian's mounts have found the winner's circle a total of 262 times at Group 1 level and have earned £150 million in prize money. In 2020, Dettori had nine Group 1 wins worldwide, as well as a 70th winner at Royal Ascot.
“I have never felt fitter or more ready and able than I am now at this milestone,” said Dettori, who has celebrated 63 of those Group 1 wins in the last five years, a career best. “Longines have recently awarded me the title of the Best Jockey in the World, based on worldwide ratings, for the third year in a row so that has added a spring to my step.”
